Mazmur 66:1-2

Psalm 66 ¹ 

For the music director; a song, a psalm.

66:1 Shout out praise to God, all the earth!

66:2 Sing praises about the majesty of his reputation! ² 

Give him the honor he deserves! ³ 

Mazmur 67:4

67:4 Let foreigners ⁴  rejoice and celebrate!

For you execute justice among the nations,

and govern the people living on earth. ⁵  (Selah)

67:7 May God bless us! ⁶ 

Then all the ends of the earth will give him the honor he deserves. ⁷ 

Mazmur 86:8-10

86:8 None can compare to you among the gods, O Lord!

Your exploits are incomparable! ⁸ 

86:9 All the nations, whom you created,

will come and worship you, ⁹  O Lord.

They will honor your name.

86:10 For you are great and do amazing things.

You alone are God.

Mazmur 100:1-2

Psalm 100 ¹⁰ 

A thanksgiving psalm.

100:1 Shout out praises to the Lord, all the earth!

100:2 Worship ¹¹  the Lord with joy!

Enter his presence with joyful singing!

[66:1]  ¹ sn Psalm 66. The psalmist praises God because he has delivered his people from a crisis.

[66:2]  ² tn Heb “his name,” which here stands metonymically for God’s reputation.

[66:2]  ³ tn Heb “make honorable his praise.”

[67:4]  ⁴ tn Or “peoples.”

[67:4]  ⁵ tn Heb “for you judge nations fairly, and [as for the] peoples in the earth, you lead them.” The imperfects are translated with the present tense because the statement is understood as a generalization about God’s providential control of the world. Another option is to understand the statement as anticipating God’s future rule (“for you will rule…and govern”).

[67:7]  ⁶ tn The prefixed verb forms in vv. 6b-7a are understood as jussives.

[67:7]  ⁷ tn Heb “will fear him.” After the jussive of the preceding line, the prefixed verbal form with prefixed vav (ו) conjunctive is understood as indicating purpose/result. (Note how v. 3 anticipates the universal impact of God showing his people blessing.) Another option is to take the verb as a jussive and translate, “Let all the ends of the earth fear him.”

[86:8]  ⁸ tn Heb “and there are none like your acts.”

[86:9]  ⁹ tn Or “bow down before you.”

[100:1]  ¹⁰ sn Psalm 100. The psalmist celebrates the fact that Israel has a special relationship to God and summons worshipers to praise the Lord for his faithfulness.

[100:2]  ¹¹ tn Or “serve.”
